Sarah Smetham

Psychotherapist and Eating Disorder Specialist Therapist, BACP(accred)

I am a BACP accredited therapist, extensively trained in EMDR, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT), and Counselling for Depression. With a special focus on working with eating disorders, disordered eating, and neurodivergent individuals, my therapeutic approach is informed by both my professional experience and expertise and my own personal lived experience of 15 years with Anorexia Nervosa.

I am deeply passionate about bringing together all of my training and experience to create a therapeutic approach that is uniquely tailored to each individual’s needs. I believe that everyone has within them the ability to change, and I see my role as helping to nurture and build upon that capacity. Through our work together, we aim to overcome challenges, cultivate self-compassion, and work towards living the rich, meaningful life you aspire to.

Compassion lies at the heart of all that I do, and I am known for my calm, empathetic, and non-judgmental approach. I offer a collaborative, person-centred environment where clients can feel safe to explore their difficulties, knowing they are met with understanding and support. Whether you are seeking to heal your relationship with food and your body, or navigating the complexities of neurodivergence and wider mental health struggles, we will work together to create a path forward that is both empowering and deeply respectful of your unique journey.
