Join nutritional therapist Joanne Lee for an insightful training session on understanding Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) through both lived experiences and clinical practice. Joanne, who graduated from CNM in 2019, has supported a family member with OCD and has since worked extensively with many individuals affected by the disorder. This training will provide valuable perspectives and practical strategies for professionals and individuals seeking to deepen their knowledge about OCD.

Explore Joanne's lived experience of supporting someone with OCD, including discussions on common myths and preconceived ideas about what OCD entails. Understand the concept of the "OCD monster" and delve into the unique challenges of "Pure OCD”. Joanne will share her experience and the impact on carers/family/friends.

 

Clinical Approaches:
Gain insights into OCD therapy according to NICE guidelines, including details on GP referrals, medications, and managing withdrawal symptoms.Learn about OCD comfort boundaries and explore Joanne's clinical approach, which includes guidance on testing, avoiding reassurance and evidence-based practices and supplements that Joanne has found useful in clinical practice.
